Later, Rypa addressed their permanent split during an appearance on the talk show ‘deep und deutlich’. She cited the strain of a five-year on-off relationship, the pressures of motherhood, intense media scrutiny, and disagreements regarding the division of childcare responsibilities as primary factors. Rypa noted that the constant press attention made her feel “trapped.” Despite the breakup, the pair remains committed to co-parenting their children, Leano and Amelio.

In further discussions on ‘deep und deutlich’, Rypa elaborated on the emotional toll of their separation, stating the couple ‘lost themselves’ while navigating the responsibilities of parenthood. She specifically highlighted the strain caused by her first son being born prematurely and requiring intensive care.

Rypa also detailed significant privacy breaches, alleging that a member of her inner circle sold sensitive information regarding her first pregnancy and her son’s medical condition to the press. She further described a distressing incident where another mother at the hospital filmed her child in the intensive care unit, which contributed to an unwanted media presence outside the clinic.

Following the separation, Pietro Lombardi addressed the situation on the ‘Patchwork Boys’ podcast. He criticized men, including some from reality television, who allegedly contacted Rypa during her period of heartbreak. Lombardi characterized these suitors' behavior as “predatory,” claiming they sent insincere messages intended to win favor by disparaging his character.
