Authorities in Honduras and the Dominican Republic have conducted various enforcement operations targeting illegal activities and consumer rights violations. In late October, officials in Honduras intervened in a Tegucigalpa commercial establishment following reports of fraudulent slot machines. Simultaneously, in the Dominican Republic, the San Cristóbal Prosecutor's Office and National Police destroyed over 300 seized slot machines in the Canastica sector for violating gambling laws. By early November, enforcement efforts shifted toward consumer protection. In Honduras, the Secretariat of Economic Development launched inspections to prevent fraudulent Black Friday promotions and ensure advertised discounts are legitimate. In the Dominican Republic, the National Institute for the Protection of Consumer Rights Rights, known as Pro Consumidor, ordered the temporary closure of eight Chinese-owned businesses in the Greater Santo Domingo area. These area, including Pantoja and Los Alcarrizos. Director Eddy Alcántara stated that the closures of establishments such as Home Plus, AMG Mall, Plaza Neza, Tienda Rojo Star, Tienda Nuevo Mundo, Import y Export, and Sol, Playa y Arena, were reportedly due to prompted by irregularities including the sale of products lacking required sanitary registrations and the inappropriate display of adult items near products in areas visible to minors. These administrative measures will remain in effect until the Attorney General’s Office completes its investigation.
