The Lazio Region has announced a 75 million euro extraordinary intervention plan designed to mitigate the effects of inflation, rising energy costs, and increased raw material prices on local businesses and citizens. President Francesco Rocca presented the plan, which allocates 20 million euros specifically to combat energy poverty among vulnerable groups, such as individuals with disabilities, those in economic disadvantage, and citizens over the age of 75. This specific funding is sourced from the European Social Fund (FSE+ 2021-2027) and regional funds to provide extraordinary support for domestic electricity costs. Additional components of the regional initiative include support for the agricultural sector against high fuel and fertilizer costs, as well as experimental mobility support for university students. At the national level, the ‘Carta Dedicata a Te’ economic contribution has been refinanced for the 2026-2027 period. This measure provides 500 euros annually to families with an ISEE below 15,000 euros who do not receive other social inclusion or unemployment support, intended for the purchase of essential food items.
