Political tension is rising within Lebanon as various parliamentary blocs criticize the government’s handling of security and economic crises. The Loyalty to the Resistance bloc has condemned the failure of a framework agreement, claiming the government’s concessions have provided Israel with a “pretext to continue military operations” in southern Lebanon. The bloc accused the administration of prioritizing the appeasement of the United States over national protection, noting that official negligence has worsened domestic issues such as corruption and electricity shortages. In a recent statement, the bloc also accused ministers of failing to provide satisfactory answers during parliamentary sessions and attempting to use “ongoing Israeli aggression as an excuse for administrative failures.” Additionally, the bloc reaffirmed its support for Hezbollah leadership under Secretary-General Naim Qassem. Similarly, the Lebanese Forces party is reconsidering its participation in the government. Disagreements center on the energy sector and the management of state funds. Representative Fadi Karam of the Strong Republic bloc stated that the party is open to reviewing its ministerial presence if reform proposals continue to be ignored. The party has criticized the diversion of resources toward reconstruction efforts in the south during ongoing conflict, labeling such spending as “wasteful and misplaced.” The Lebanese Forces emphasized that reform requires integrating sovereign decisions with institutional rebuilding rather than allowing internal political calculations or the “deep state” to dominate.
