Kerala police initiated an investigation and filed a First Information Report (FIR) against political commentator TG Mohandas for derogatory and violent remarks made in YouTube videos regarding student protesters at Jantar Mantar. The remarks targeted students protesting a NEET paper leak, with Mohandas allegedly suggesting the use of live fire to disperse crowds and making offensive comments about female protesters. Following the initial legal action, the Thiruvananthapuram Cyber Crime Police took Mohandas into custody from his residence in Kochi. While some political figures have characterized the arrest as political drama, law enforcement maintains the arrest is a response to inflammatory statements regarding the safety of female protesters and the potential for casualties during demonstrations.
