Legal representatives for actor Kim Soo-hyun have requested that YouTube close the ‘Garo Sero Institute’ channel and delete 30 related videos. The request follows allegations that the channel violated policies regarding harassment and cyberbullying. The legal action stems from claims that the channel’s operator, Kim Se-ui, disseminated false information and used AI-manipulated audio to defame and threaten the actor. This follows a June indictment of Kim Se-ui for allegedly spreading false claims regarding Kim Soo-hyun’s connection to the death of Kim Sae-ron. Investigations by police and prosecution have cleared Kim Soo-hyun of these allegations, finding no evidence to support the claims. On October 6, Kim’s legal representative, Go Sang-rok, argued that deleting individual videos is insufficient to prevent repeated attacks. The legal team has applied for a court injunction to prohibit the publication of related videos and prevent further postings to mitigate secondary damage. A court hearing regarding this injunction is scheduled for November 4.
