Adeniyi Adeyemi was remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre following an eight-count charge involving forgery, impersonation, and conspiracy. Prosecutors alleged that Adeyemi falsely represented himself as the Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), which they described as a “fictitious agency”. The charges claimed that between 2024 and 2025, Adeyemi and others conspired to forge presidential appointment letters, State House documents, and official correspondence. In October 2026, the Federal High Court in Abuja struck out the charges against Adeyemi. Justice Mohammed Garba Umar issued the ruling after the Federal Government requested the termination of proceedings. The Director of Public Prosecutions, Rotimi Oyedepo, stated that a review by the Attorney-General of the Federation identified legal loopholes, noting that the documents allegedly forged fall under the jurisdiction of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) rather than the Federal High Court. A new charge has been filed at the FCT High Court, where the government intends to arraign Adeyemi. Two other defendants, identified as Femi and Anu, remain at large.
