Speculation regarding a new LEGO-themed city-building game, potentially titled ‘LEGO Skylines’, emerged following leaks of a game rating in South Korea. Rumors suggested a collaboration between the LEGO Group and Paradox Interactive, bolstered by both parties’ scheduled attendance at the Gamescom event. During the Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 event, Paradox Interactive, Iceflake Studios, and the LEGO Group officially announced LEGO Skylines. Developed by Iceflake Studios—the team behind Cities: Skylines II—the game aims to blend deep management simulation with the creative nature of LEGO bricks. Players will expand from a single plot into a metropolis by managing essential infrastructure, including electricity, water, food, and waste management, as well as services like hospitals, parks, and museums. Fredrik Löving, SVP and Global Head of Game at the LEGO Group, stated the project seeks to bring the LEGO experience to one of the most popular gaming genres. The title will feature high customization through adjustable plots and LEGO decorations. The game is scheduled for release on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, though a specific release date has not yet been confirmed. The title is currently available for wishlisting on Steam.
