Lexus updates GX and introduces expands electric TZ SUV lineup

Lexus has expanded its vehicle lineup with the announcement of the 2027 TZ, the brand’s first fully electric three-row SUV. In the United States, the TZ will be available in three trims: Premium AWD (starting at $64,050), Premium Touring AWD ($72,050), and Luxury AWD ($80,550). The model utilizes the DIRECT4 all-wheel-drive system and offers battery ranges between 253 and 315 miles. Further updates to the GX off-road SUV focus on the OVERTRAIL+ grade, which now includes larger tires for increased ground clearance. Performance refinements include a revised Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) and Electric Power Steering (EPS) to improve handling on both paved and unpaved surfaces. The GX continues to utilize a 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo engine. For the 2027 model year, the GX features upgraded interior convenience, such as the SmartAccess automatic door system as standard across all six grades. Higher trims, including the Luxury, Luxury+, and Overtrail+ models, now include second-row seat ventilation. Pricing for the 2027 GX ranges from approximately $69,100 to $85,000, a slight increase attributed to rising costs and potential 15% import tariffs on vehicles from Toyota’s Tahara plant. In Australia, Lexus confirmed the late 2026 release of the RZ600e F Sport Performance. As the brand’s most powerful electric vehicle, it will be limited to Performance, a global limited production run of 200 units and is expected to start at $135,000. Additionally, the 2027 RZ electric SUV lineup will arrive in the U.S. in early 2027, featuring the RZ 350e, RZ 450e AWD, and the high-performance RZ 550e F SPORT AWD. These models will include built-in NACS ports for Tesla Supercharger access.
