Efforts to support deaf education and Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS) accessibility continue to expand across various Brazilian municipalities and institutions. In Atibaia, the municipal education network has initiated a selection process for Educational LIBRAS Interpreters under the CLT regime to support deaf students in special education. Managed by the Instituto Global Attitude (IGA), these roles involve mediating between LIBRAS and Portuguese during pedagogical activities and institutional events. In Recife, the Public Ministry of Pernambuco (MPPE) has launched an administrative procedure following reports from the Municipal Education Secretariat regarding a shortage of permanent interpreters. The city has struggled to fill vacancies, with a recent selection process filling only seven of 30 positions, leaving the network with only two active interpreters. The MPPE has requested that the Secretariat of Education outline emergency measures within 30 days to ensure specialized support. In Sergipe, the Pedagogical Institute for Supporting Deaf Education (IPAESE) promotes bilingual education through public LIBRAS courses and provides interpreter services for public agencies. Recent expansions include new LIBRAS courses specifically adapted for children aged 7 to 14, taught by deaf instructor Alana Chagas. In São Paulo, the State Secretariat for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (SEDPcD) is offering a free online Basic Libras course through the Escola da Inclusão, featuring live classes taught by deaf instructors. Additionally, in Limeira, the C. E. I. E. F. Rafael Affonso Leite school provides bilingual education using both LIBRAS and written Portuguese, and has integrated weekly LIBRAS lessons for hearing students to foster an inclusive school culture. In Curitiba, the Municipal Chamber unanimously approved a bill to establish guidelines for including LIBRAS in municipal schools. This project aims to train educators, create inclusive environments, and overcome communication barriers.
