Lidl has initiated a widespread recall of its Milbona High Protein Chocolate Pudding (200g) across several European countries, including Germany, Belgium, Austria, Hungary, and Croatia. The recall follows the detection of Bacillus cereus during quality controls by the supplier, Fude + Serrahn Milchprodukte GmbH & Co. KG. Bacillus cereus is a bacterium that can cause food poisoning, leading to symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps. While these symptoms are typically short-lived, the infection may be more severe for high-risk groups, including infants, pregnant women, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. The recall targets specific batches with expiration dates of September 12, 2026, in Germany and Austria, and September 14, 2026, in Belgium, Hungary, and Croatia. Recent reports confirm the recall also affects products in Italy, specifically targeting 200g containers with an expiration date of 14/09/2026 and EAN code 4056489216162. Consumers are advised not to consume the affected products and are encouraged to return them to any Lidl store for a full refund, regardless of whether they have a receipt.
