Singer Lionel Richie has paused his ‘Sing a Song All Night Long’ tour to recover from a heart procedure. The 77-year-old underwent a catheter ablation to treat atrial fibrillation (AFib), an irregular heart rhythm. A representative stated the procedure went ‘perfectly’ and that Richie is ‘doing great,’ though he requires time off before returning to the stage. The medical intervention has resulted in the cancellation of three upcoming tour dates: September 26 in San Francisco, September 30 in Chicago, and October 2 in Columbus, Ohio. These cancellations affect his tour with Earth, Wind & Fire. This follows a series of recent health challenges, including a June incident in St. Paul involving dizziness and a late August hospitalization in St. Louis, where he spent time in intensive care. While Richie was recently seen in Beverly Hills appearing to be in good spirits, he is now focusing on recovery. He is expected to resume his professional schedule with his ‘King of Hearts’ residency in at the Wynn Las Vegas starting October 14.
