Paramount+ debuted Lioness Season 3 on 2 August 2026, with eight episodes released weekly through 20 September. Created by Taylor Sheridan, the season follows CIA operative Joe McNamara (Zoe Saldaña) through a dual-timeline structure involving an extraction in Donetsk and her subsequent abduction on American soil. Initial viewership was strong, drawing 7.1 million viewers in its first seven days. The plot intensified as McNamara faced a torture ordeal and a subsequent escape during a police shootout. The season finale, ‘The Unraveling’, revealed that Aaliyah Amrohi (Stephanie Nur)—the daughter of a target from the first season—orchestrated the kidnapping as revenge for the death of her father and fiancé at the hands of McNamara’s colleague, Cruz Manuelos. The finale also featured a violent cafe encounter during the pursuit of Dimitri Sokolov and Renat, which resulted in the death of an African emissary. Personal consequences for McNamara included a fracture in her marriage after her husband, Neal (Dave Annable), left her and their daughters. While the finale provides significant narrative momentum for a continuation, Paramount+ has not officially confirmed a fourth season. However, actress Nicole Kidman has expressed interest in continuing the series, noting a desire to further explore the character of Kaitlyn. Series creator Taylor Sheridan, who also appears in the show as Delta Force operator Cody Spears, has not yet commented on renewal. Observers note that previous seasons experienced renewal gaps of eight to ten months, potentially due to ~~Taylor~~ Sheridan’s workload or the filming schedules of Saldaña and ~~Nicole~~ Kidman. ~~Production details also revealed that scenes appearing to be set in Doha, Qatar, were actually filmed at a Texas mansion using CGI to recreate the skyline.~~
