Literary events and book presentations in southern Italy

Overview

In late July and August 2026, various literary events and novel presentations took place across southern Italy.

In Puglia, the Armonia OFF festival hosted a dialogue between French author Emmanuel Carrère and Italian writer Chiara Valerio in Alessano. Shortly after, Agropoli held a presentation for Carmela Forlenza’s novel, ‘Non chiamatelo padre’, which explores themes of oppressive family environments.

As August progressed, additional presentations were scheduled in Accettura and Ururi. In Accettura, Giuseppe Dalessandro presented ‘Barone per un giorno’, an investigative story set against a local festival.
