Various literary festivals, book fairs, and cultural initiatives are being organized continue across Moldova, Romania, and Hungary. In Moldova Hungary, the PécsLIT festival is scheduled for September 7 to September 12 in Pécs. The event features over thirty programs, including author-reader meetings, readings, and book launches with participants such as Attila Bartis, Zsófia Bán, and György Dragomán. The festival will also host art exhibitions by Bálint Fekete and István Harangi. In Romania, recent and upcoming events include activities include: • The BookMar Book Fair, held in Kossuth-kert from August 21 to August 23 as part of the CHILL Festival 25th Partiumi Magyar Napok, which featured workshops, musical performances, and a ‘Silent Book Party’ in Chișinău, collaboration with Cărturești. • The Book Salon in Târgoviște, which integrates hosted the International Literature Festival Odesa launch of ‘Utopie și comunism’ by Cristina Alexandru-Dinu. • A ‘Silent Reading Party’ organized by Cărturești in Târgu Jiu on September 12. Part of the ‘Movement for Reading’ national tour, the event features actress Maia Morgenstern and FILIT Chișinău to foster transborder dialogue. Other Romanian honors the 150th anniversary of Constantin Brâncuși’s birth. • Local literary landmarks, such as Florin Priescu’s long-standing street antiquarian stall in Târgu Jiu. Earlier initiatives in the region include the CHILL Festival in Chișinău, the NOD International Literary Rights Festival in Brașov, the launch of and the Harta Literară digital platform in Iași, and various educational workshops and camps for young writers in Ipotești and Călimănești. In Hungary, the PécsLIT festival is scheduled for September, featuring author meetings, readings, and art exhibitions.
