The ministry established a limit of 3,935 moose for the season and noted that no hunting limits had been set for red deer for the second consecutive year. Regulations included specific timelines for different deer sexes and juveniles, as well as restrictions on lead ammunition use near wetlands to prevent environmental damage. The Environmental Protection Department noted that male animals become more active and may wander into unfamiliar territories, increasing the risk of animals unexpectedly crossing roads. In response to the rut, authorities issued safety reminders for both drivers and hunters. Drivers are urged to exercise caution in forested areas.
