Local administrative and health updates in Hungary continue to focus on community service schedules and infrastructure projects. Blood donation events are organized across several counties. In Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, donations are scheduled between August 10 and August 14 at locations including the Miskolc Regional Blood Supply Institute, Ináncs Community House, Forró Cultural House, Füzérkomlós, and Arnót. In response to the upcoming long weekend and the August 20 holiday, the National Blood Supply Service and the Hungarian Red Cross issued a joint appeal. While supplies are reported as stable, officials noted that holidays often impact donation rates. A summer campaign featuring a sweepstakes for concert tickets from domestic bands has been launched to encourage participation. Looking ahead to the week of September 7, 2026, new blood donation events are scheduled for the Bács-Kiskun region, including Kecskemét, Fajsz, Felsőszentiván, Rém, Bácsalmás, Kunadacs, Tompa, Jászszentlászló, Baja, and Kiskunfélegyháza. New donation drives are scheduled to take place between September 14 and September 19, 2026. In the Miskolc region, sites include the Miskolc Regional Supply Institute, Sajóbábony, Sajólád, Sárospatak, Mezőkövesd, Ózd, and Révleányvár, utilizing locations such as the Miskolc City Hall and various hospitals. In Békés county, opportunities are available in Mezőhegyes, Békéscsaba, Gyula, Orosháza, Sarkad, Gyomaendrőd, Kardoskút, Endrőd, Zsadány, Sarkadkeresztúr, Szarvas, Nagyszénás, Dévaványa, and Telekgerendás, with key involvement from the Békéscsaba Regional Supply Institute and transfusion departments in Gyula and Orosháza. In Pécs, roadwork projects involving milling and asphalt laying by Magyar Közút are scheduled from August 10 to August 15. These works on Main Road 6 and Main Road 58 will cause traffic disruptions, temporary road closures, and modifications to local bus routes.
