Various municipalities across South Korea are hosting community-focused events and festivals to promote local culture, urban regeneration, and small businesses. In Yongin, the ‘2026 Singal-o Street Urban Regeneration Festival’ was organized to showcase urban renewal achievements through performances, workshops, and food programs. Similarly, in Gangneung, a ‘Citizen Humanities Experience Group Tour’ was conducted to explore local bakery culture and promote regional festivals via social media. Other regional activities include the ‘2026 Gangseo-gu Small Business Harmony Festival’ in Seoul and the ‘2026 Goyang Special City Small Business Win-Win Festival’, both of which aimed to support local commerce through awards and performances. Seasonal displays, such as autumn flower exhibitions in Gyeonggi Province, and local sporting events like the ‘2026 Suwon Cup National Badminton Tournament’ have also been held to engage residents. In late October, festivities continue with the 10th Harmony and Culture Festival in Gwirae-myeon, featuring local club performances and a singing contest. In Gwangju, Buk-gu is hosting its first Citizen’s Day event since the 9th civil election on October 30, which includes resident autonomy programs and a concert. This event is also implementing eco-friendly measures by providing 11,000 reusable containers for food booths.
