Various local projects have been launched in Argentina and Chile focusing on environmental conservation and urban development. In Argentina, municipal authorities in Tolhuin conducted cleaning operations at Lake Fagnano to manage waste caused by high visitor numbers and rising temperatures. Officials from the Coordination of Environment and Urban Habitat stated that these efforts will continue in various neighborhoods and public spaces to prevent pollution and manage micro-dumps. In the Tierra del Fuego region, educational initiatives have also been introduced. In Ushuaia, the Municipality organized a pedagogical and artistic day at the Bosque Yatana Urban Natural Reserve for local kindergarten children. This activity, part of the “Arte y Patrimonio en el paisaje” program, utilized sensory and playful methods to encourage interaction with local flora and fauna. In Chile, ecological efforts included the planting of 200 native trees in the Lago Peñuelas National Reserve to restore areas damaged by forest fires. This third annual event, involving employees from Turbus, JAC, and Buses Bio Bio in partnership with the National Forestry Corporation (CONAF), focused on planting species such as quillay, pimiento, and huingán. Additionally, urban development projects were inaugurated in Caleta Chañaral de Aceituno to improve tourism infrastructure near the Humboldt Penguin National Reserve. Social inclusion efforts were also highlighted in Antofagasta through the unveiling of a collaborative mosaic mural designed to promote community participation.
