The Lombardy Region, in partnership with Fondazione Cariplo, has approved 18 million euros to fund 23 cultural projects for the 2026–2029 period. The initiative focuses on the restoration, redevelopment, and relaunching of public buildings to expand regional cultural services and encourage public-private partnerships. Funding is distributed across various provinces. The Metropolitan City of Milan was allocated more than 2 million euros for three projects, including the restoration of the Palazzina Liberty. Additionally, the Cremona territory received over 2 million euros for three initiatives, such as the recovery of the ex Cinema Italia in Piadena Drizzona and the redevelopment of Palazzo Affaitati-Magio. Other significant allocations include 3 million euros for Bergamo, 2.5 million for Brescia, 2.4 million for Mantova, and over 1.5 million for Como, which includes the restoration of the Chiesa della Madonna della Soledad in Gravedona ed Uniti and the recovery of Villa Marzorati in Porlezza. Regional Culture Councilor Francesca Caruso stated that these resources allow territories to recover historically significant buildings and make them available to citizens. The projects aim to improve accessibility, energy efficiency, and create multifunctional spaces for artistic, educational, and social activities. When including additional regional and private resources, the total investment across all 23 projects is expected to exceed 45.5 million euros.
