Low humidity alerts in Northeast Brazil

Overview

The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) has issued yellow alerts for low air humidity in the Brazilian states of Rio Grande do Norte and Paraíba.

Initially, the alert covered 83 cities in Rio Grande do Norte and over 100 cities in Paraíba, with humidity levels expected to fluctuate between 20% and 30%. This condition was classified as a potential danger with low risks for forest fires and health impacts.

By late September, the low humidity alert remained active in Paraíba, affecting 89 cities. Authorities advised residents to increase fluid intake and avoid intense physical activity due to the dry conditions.
