The Lower Silesian regional government has announced more than 50 million PLN to fund 86 sports investments across the region. This funding aims to modernize and create facilities such as multi-purpose sports fields, halls, running tracks, and swimming pools. The allocation is distributed through several programs, including the Lower Silesian Sports Base Development Fund, support for six sports clubs, and the Lower Silesian Sports Infrastructure Development Program. Specifically, 10.5 million PLN is allocated to 28 local governments, 3.5 million PLN is designated for six sports clubs, and nearly 17 million PLN is earmarked for 37 municipal investments. Additionally, 2 million PLN is ~~designated~~ set aside for four tennis and padel parks. Many projects ~~will be~~ are concentrated in the southern part of the region, including Nowa Ruda, Kudowa-Zdrój, Ząbkowice Śląskie, and ~~Wałbrzych.~~ Wałbrzych, where 1.5 million PLN is designated for reconstructing sports fields. Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Paweł Gancarz stated the goal is to provide residents with “optimal conditions for sports, whether through clubs, school activities, or personal recreation.” Further regional development efforts include the ‘My Field – Orlik 2012’ program, which has issued 19 decisions to support local governments in modernizing Orlik sports complexes. In Żarów, Deputy Minister Piotr Borys announced 17 million PLN for the renovation of regional sports facilities. These investments align with the 2026 Year of Health Prevention, emphasizing physical activity as a core component of public health.
