LPG cylinder explosions in Delhi-NCR residential areas
Overview
A series of fatal residential fires caused by LPG cylinder explosions occurred in the Delhi-NCR region in September 2026.
On September 12, an LPG cylinder fire in the Bhovapur area of Ghaziabad resulted in the death of a young girl. Firefighters reported that narrow streets prevented fire tenders from reaching the residence directly, requiring personnel to carry equipment on foot. Two residents sustained burn injuries, but the daughter passed away during medical treatment.
On September 19, a similar incident took place in the Tilak Nagar and Moti Nagar areas of Delhi. An LPG cylinder explosion on the ground floor of a house triggered a massive fire in the early morning hours. Authorities confirmed that one person died at the scene.
