Organizers of the ninth L’Étape Brasil by Tour de France presented by Nubank held a preparatory “Blitz L’Étape” event in Campos do Jordão to provide technical guidance and hydration for participants. The official competition took place on September 27 in the Serra da Mantiqueira region, affecting the cities of Campos do Jordão and Santo Antônio do Pinhal. The event drew approximately 3,500 cyclists competing on two distinct routes. The long course covered 107 km with a total elevation gain of 2,300 meters, featuring a decisive 12 km climb with an average gradient of 7.8% known as the ‘King and Queen of the Mountain’ segment. The short course spanned 66 km with 1,300 meters of elevation gain. Technical director Fernando Cheles noted that the race required careful management of effort, nutrition, and hydration due to extreme altitude variations. Prior to the races, participants utilized an event Village for accreditation and kit collection. Pre-race activities included interactive experiences such as cycling podcasts, quizzes, and broadcasts of the 2026 Women’s Road Cycling World Championships. The 2026 season concluded with notable individual performances. In the 107 km category, Cristian Luis Lazzari secured the overall title and the ‘Rei da Montanha’ challenge with a time of 2h54min58s, matching the official time of Joao Pedro Rossi and Bruno Martins Lemes. In the women’s competition, Livia Leozzi Cabeça achieved her second consecutive championship on the long course. To ensure safety, significant traffic changes and temporary road closures were implemented. In Campos do Jordão, 14 operational points were established, including Vila Capivari and Praça Castro Alves. Major interventions occurred on Avenida Emílio Ribas and Avenida Dr. Januário Miraglia, as well as the Floriano Rodrigues Pinheiro Highway (SP-123). Additional impacts were noted on the SP-046 and SP-050 highways. Bruno Prada, CEO of L’Étape Brasil, stated that the integrated operation aimed to provide a secure environment for the sporting challenge.
