Serbian long jumper Luka Bošković entered the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham with the goal of reaching the final. Having previously recorded a personal best of 8.23 meters, the 20-year-old aimed to secure a qualifying jump between 8.00 and 8.05 meters. During the qualification rounds on August 10, Bošković successfully advanced to the final after achieving a personal best of 8.33 meters. Although wind assistance prevented this mark from being recognized as a national record, it secured his place in the competition. In the long jump final, Bošković finished in fifth place with a best jump of 8.08 meters. The gold medal was won by Greece’s Miltiadis Tentoglou. Additionally, Serbian athlete Armin Sinančević qualified for the shot put final with a throw of 20.20 meters. In contrast, Bosnian shot putter Mesud Pezer failed to advance to the final, finishing 19th overall in the qualifications with a single valid throw of 18.89 meters.
