Red Sea Global continues to expand the luxury and wellness offerings at the AMAALA destination on Saudi Arabia’s northwestern coast. Following the mid-August 2026 opening of the Rosewood AMAALA in Triple Bay, the developer announced the opening of the Equinox Resort AMAALA in Marina Village in early September. This marks the brand’s first international expansion outside the United States. The resort features 128 rooms and suites, 21 branded residences, and high-performance wellness facilities. Simultaneously, the Nammos Resort Amaala has opened, representing the first global resort for the Nammos brand. On September 30, 2026, Red Sea Global introduced the Shebara luxury eco-resort on Sheybarah Island. Located 25 km from the mainland and accessible only by sea or air, the complex is designed to be entirely self-sufficient, operating without external energy, water, or waste consumption. To protect local coral reefs and mangroves, the project utilizes an offshore construction methodology where villas are built, equipped, and commissioned at sea before being transported to the destination. The architectural design features spheres intended to blend with the marine environment. On September 14, 2026, the AMAALA Yacht Club officially commenced operations. To bolster the region's maritime appeal, Red Sea Global has launched the ‘Yacht Network,’ a management platform designed to integrate marine services along the Red Sea coast. Starting in the 2026 winter season, this network will allow private and chartered vessels to access 278 berths across two major locations—including 119 berths at the AMAALA Yacht Club and 159 at the Shura Island Marina—under a single unified mooring contract. Both facilities can accommodate yachts up to 120 meters in length. To support this growing maritime industry, the Saudi Red Sea Authority is introducing RASA, a unified digital platform for coastal tourism licensing and permits. Additionally, a new superyacht refit and repair facility, named Icon Saudi, is planned for Jeddah. This project is a partnership between Sela, a Public Investment Fund company, and the Dutch shipyard Icon Yachts, aiming to bring European maintenance expertise to the region. To promote these developments, the Saudi Tourism Authority participated in the 2026 Monaco Yacht Show. Looking ahead, the kingdom is scheduled to host the Red Sea Yacht Show at the Jeddah Yacht Club and Marina from October 14 to 17, 2027, aiming to showcase the growing marine tourism ecosystem to owners, manufacturers, and designers.
