Lwówek Śląski resident raises over 100,000 PLN for medical r Medical fundraising efforts in Poland
In Poland, various fundraising efforts have been organized to support cancer patients and medical rehabilitation. In April and May 2026, Polish YouTuber Piotr ‘Łatwogang’ Hanckew, alongside rapper Bedoes 2115 and 11-year-old patient Maja Mecan, hosted a nine-day charity livestream titled ‘Diss na raka’. Organized with the Cancer Fighters foundation, the event raised approximately 292.7 million zł, significantly exceeding the initial 500,000 zł goal. These funds are intended to provide equipment, medicine, treatment, and rehabilitation for about 180 children with cancer across the country. Separately, in July 2026, Izabela Maj-Kołodziej of Lwówek Śląski underwent surgery to remove a spinal cord tumor after a 15-year battle with cancer. Following the surgery, which left her with paralysis and sensory disturbances, a community fundraising campaign sought 50,000 PLN for her intensive rehabilitation. The effort raised over 100,000 PLN through donations from local residents and others.
