The M League Organization has released details for its 2026-27 season. An opening ceremony and public viewing event featuring a match between EARTH JETS, KONAMI Mahjong Kakutou Club, Shibuya ABEMAS, and U-NEXT Pirates is scheduled for September 14, 2026, at Belles Salle Shiodome. Official supporter registration for the fan club opens on September 1, 2026. Members can choose to support specific teams or the league generally, with benefits including exclusive merchandise, priority ticket access, and a special live stream on September 10, 2026. The organization has also announced the regular season schedule, which is set to begin on September 14, 2026. Following a draft and contract renewal process in June 2026, ten teams comprising 40 players will compete in a total of 300 matches through March 2, 2027. The league will maintain its two-table simultaneous hosting format. The competition will utilize a semi-final system where the top six teams advance to play 20 matches each, after which the top four teams proceed to the final series to determine the champion. As preparations continue, team sponsorship details are being finalized. U-NEXT Pirates has secured 13 sponsors, including a new partnership with SBR and renewals with 12 existing companies such as Uniquest and GENDA GiGO Entertainment. Additionally, KONAMI Mahjong Kakutou Club has unveiled a new uniform design and announced two new sponsors, Saga Tobuse Seika and Y-Pro, as the team pursues its first championship.
