In early July 2026, former Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama praised the United States‑Ghana partnership on the occasion of America’s 250th anniversary, highlighting the enduring bilateral cooperation. The visit began with a ceremonial welcome at King’s House on August 2, followed by bilateral talks with Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Governor‑General Sir Patrick Allen, and a joint address to both houses of the Jamaican Parliament.
