Major technology platform cybersecurity vulnerabilities

Overview

In early October 2026, Dell released security updates to address a critical path traversal vulnerability in its System Update tool. This flaw, identified as CVE-2026-86360, carried a CVSS score of 9.6 and could allow unauthenticated attackers to remotely execute malicious code with high privileges on Windows and Linux systems, though it required user interaction.

By late October 2026, a broader series of high-severity vulnerabilities emerged across various technology sectors. These included a critical Linux TCP stack flaw (CVE-2026-98432) capable of remote root command execution, a vulnerability in Juniper Networks’ Session Smart Router, and flaws in Baseboard Management Controllers. Additionally, NVIDIA’s NeMo Agent Toolkit was identified with a maximum CVSS score of 10.0 due to authentication issues, while Dell’s PowerProtect infrastructure was also found to have multiple severe vulnerabilities.
