A legal proceeding is underway in Manchester, England, regarding a long-term pattern of abuse against a woman. A man from Stockport, whose identity is withheld to protect his wife, has pleaded guilty to 60 criminal offenses involving the repeated drugging and sexual assault of his wife over a period spanning from 2004 to 2025. The defendant, a man in his 60s, admitted to charges including rape, attempted rape, sexual assault, and administering a substance with the intent to incapacitate his spouse. This confession follows a previous admission made earlier this year regarding 15 sexual offenses committed between 2022 and 2025. The victim was present in the courtroom at Minshull Street Crown Court during the proceedings. The case involves a broader investigation into systemic abuse. Twelve other men, aged between 28 and 74, are standing trial for serious sexual offenses against the same woman occurring between 2018 and 2025. These co-defendants, who include a paramedic and a former football coach, deny the allegations. While one additional man has already pleaded guilty to several charges, including conspiracy to rape, the trial for the remaining accused men is expected to take place in the coming weeks at Manchester Crown Court. Greater Manchester Police have described the situation as a “horrific campaign of abuse” and a “very complex investigation.” Assistant Chief Constable Rick Jackson stated that the force is focused on providing specialized support to the victim.
