Mapfre market expansion and leadership

Overview

Mapfre has established itself as the largest insurer in Latin America by business volume, reaching 11.044 billion dollars in premiums. This growth, representing a 1% increase and a 5.1% market share, allowed the company to surpass Bradesco, which saw a 13.2% revenue decline attributed to the Brazilian real's depreciation and a downturn in the Life Savings sector.

Following this market leadership, Mapfre has moved to expand its reach through new bancassurance partnerships. In Spain, Banco Santander integrated Verti, Mapfre’s digital insurance arm, into its automotive offerings. In Venezuela, Mapfre Venezuela partnered with Bancaribe, marking the first time a bank has been authorized by the Superintendency of Insurance Activity to serve as an alternative channel for the insurer, providing access to life, personal accident, and funeral services.
