After wind‑assisted breakthroughs earlier in the season, Jacobs skipped the Monte Carlo Diamond League meet on 8 July to protect his preparation for the European Championships in Birmingham (10‑16 August). He returned to competition at the Italian Athletics Championships in Florence on 25‑26 July, where he claimed his sixth national 100 m title with a wind‑neutral 10.12 s into a –0.4 m/s head‑wind, edging Samuele Ceccarelli (10.31) and Lorenzo Patta (10.34).
