Marian Godină, a Romanian police officer and social media influencer, initially faced formal complaints from the NGO Patria Prima. The organization filed these complaints with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Inspectorate General for Police, and the National Authority for Integrity. Godină rejected the allegations, claiming he had not broken any laws and arguing that the complaints were an attempt to have him dismissed. Following these events, Godină announced his resignation from the Romanian Police after nearly 20 years of service. Having graduated from the ‘Vasile Lascăr’ Police Agents School in Câmpina two decades ago, he noted he had approximately 14 years remaining until retirement. He stated that his priorities had shifted toward family and personal projects, such as writing, rather than the adrenaline of police work. He noted that while leaving the force meant forgoing a guaranteed pension and financial stability, he wished to pursue a new path. Addressing inquiries regarding his professional future, Godină revealed several upcoming ventures. These include serving as a marketing director for a company, launching a new national stand-up comedy tour, and writing a new book. He also highlighted his ongoing work with a Patreon community of over 1,200 subscribers, various brand ambassadorships, and his role as the president of a non-profit association. In his communications, he also included an ironic remark directed at supporters of former presidential candidate Călin Georgescu, contrasting his own professional transparency with that of the political figure.
