Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, have acquired Strancally Castle, a 19th-century Gothic Revival estate in County Waterford, Ireland. The property, located along the Blackwater River, includes approximately 440 acres (178 hectares) and a three-story stone ~~building.~~ building featuring 11 bedrooms and a swimming pool. While the estate was originally constructed around 1827, some reports note it was built around 1830 for former British parliamentarian John Keely. The off-market transaction was completed from previous owners Michael and Giancarla Alen-Buckley of the investment firm RAB ~~Capital.~~ Capital, who spent 25 years restoring the property. The former owners expressed satisfaction that the new owners intend to continue investing in the maintenance and improvement of the historic building and its surrounding grounds. Although the official purchase price was not disclosed in the Irish state property price register, media ~~reports estimate~~ reports, including estimates from The Irish Times, place the value of the estate ~~to be~~ between €20 million and €35 million.
