Marriage of Takefusa Kubo and Haruka Fukuhara

Overview

Japanese footballer Takefusa Kubo and actress Haruka Fukuhara announced their marriage via social media on October 2, 2026. The announcement, which featured a photo of their wedding rings, surprised the public due to a lack of prior rumors regarding a relationship between the Real Sociedad midfielder and the former child star.

Following the announcement, Fukuhara attended the Kirin Cup 2026 final to support Kubo during Japan’s 2-1 victory against New Zealand, where she was noted for wearing Kubo’s number 20 jersey. Public figures, including singer Rumiko Koyanagi, have offered congratulations to the couple, while social media discussions have explored potential connections between the pair through mutual acquaintances in the entertainment and sports industries.

Amidst the personal news, reports from Spain suggest Kubo may leave Real Sociedad as early as January, potentially seeking more consistent playing time ahead of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup. During the Kirin Cup, Kubo also expressed a desire to continue playing in a central attacking midfield role.
