Martyr remains recovery in Quảng Trị

Overview

In Quảng Trị, authorities initially recovered the remains of six martyrs following the discovery of military artifacts, such as ammunition boxes and backpacks, during construction work at an Agribank branch in the Thành Cổ ward.

By late September, the recovery efforts expanded under a ‘500-day campaign’ led by Martyr Collection Team No. 2 of the Quảng Trị Military Command. This effort resulted in the recovery of remains from four different locations, some of which were found within mass graves. A memorial service and burial ceremony for 30 martyrs were subsequently held at the Quảng Trị Martyrs Cemetery, attended by provincial officials.
