Maruti Suzuki India Limited has reached several commercial milestones. The company announced that its Brezza compact SUV surpassed 1.5 million cumulative sales in India, with the new-generation model securing over 100,000 bookings following its July 2026 launch. In its Q2 FY2026-27 financial results, the company reported a record quarterly sales volume of 696,654 units, a 26.5% year-on-year increase, and record net sales of INR 506,155 million. Despite a decrease in net profit due to commodity costs and mark-to-market losses, the company’s domestic market share rose to 40.8%. On the export front, Maruti Suzuki has exported over 50,000 electric vehicles since August 2025, accounting for nearly 93% of India’s passenger vehicle EV exports across approximately 50 countries. The primary driver of this growth is the e Vitara, the company’s first global battery-electric vehicle. Manufactured at the Hansalpur facility in Gujarat, the SUV is being shipped to approximately 50 countries, with Europe serving as the largest export destination and Japan emerging as the second largest export market for the 2026-27 fiscal year. The Hansalpur plant, which received a cumulative investment of Rs 25,288.7 crore, recently expanded its annual production capacity to 1 million vehicles, making it the first Suzuki manufacturing facility worldwide to reach such a scale at a single location. Additionally, the company established the Osamu Suzuki Centre of Excellence to promote Japanese manufacturing philosophy in India. In October 2026, Maruti Suzuki maintained its market leadership with 276,120 total sales. Notably, the company’s domestic sales reached 216,789 units, marking the first time its domestic volume has crossed the 200,000 mark.
