In September 2026, Maryland’s gaming sector showed diverging trends between traditional casino operations and sports betting. Casino revenue from slot machines and table games reached US$151.4 million, representing a 0.1% year-over-year decline and the fifth consecutive month of decreasing revenue. Despite this dip, state contributions from casinos rose by 1.8% to approximately US$65 million. During the same period, Maryland’s regulated sports betting market generated US$652.2 million in total wagers, with mobile betting comprising roughly 98.3% of the handle. This sector contributed US$9.1 million to the state, including US$6.89 million allocated to the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund for public education. On a corporate level, BetMGM reported a 7% year-on-year increase in net revenue for the third quarter, reaching US$710 million, even as its monthly active player count decreased by 3%. Despite the decline in active customers, which fell to 878,000, the company’s adjusted EBITDA rose by 112% to US$86 million. BetMGM, a joint venture between MGM Resorts International and Entain, reiterated its full-year 2026 guidance, projecting net revenue between US$2.9 billion and US$3.1 billion.
