Masan Consumer is implementing a multi-faceted growth strategy in Vietnam focused on product diversification and market expansion. The company is leveraging its five ‘Power Brands’—CHIN-SU, Nam Ngư, Omachi, Kokomi, and Wake-Up 247—to capitalize on shifting consumer preferences toward value-driven products. To address the country’s fragmented traditional retail landscape, the company is utilizing its ‘Retail Supreme’ platform to digitize distribution. In tandem with its operational expansion, Masan Group is pursuing enhanced capital market access. This includes plans to move Masan Consumer from the UPCoM exchange to a listing on the HoSE. These moves are intended to broaden the investor base and align with potential upgrades to Vietnam’s stock market, which leadership suggests will improve liquidity and access to international capital. Financial results for the first eight months of 2026 show significant growth, with net revenue reaching 77,023 billion VND, a 52% increase compared to the previous year. After-tax profit rose to 8,518 billion VND, approximately 2.2 times higher than the prior year. This performance has led the company to propose increasing its annual revenue target to a range between 98,000 and 105,000 billion VND. Growth was driven by the Consumer Operating System (cOS) and Masan High-Tech Materials (MSR). Within the cOS segment, WinCommerce recorded 31,614 billion VND in revenue (up 27%), supported by 796 net new stores, including 618 rural minimarts. Masan Consumer reported a 15% revenue increase to 21,536 billion VND. Meanwhile, MSR saw revenue hit 21,013 billion VND, a 5.1-fold increase attributed to high tungsten prices and steady demand. Expanding its strategic footprint, Masan High-Tech Materials (MSR) has entered a partnership with US-based Elmet Group Co. Elmet is set to acquire a 4.99% stake in MSR from a Masan Group subsidiary, valuing MSR’s equity at approximately $2.5 billion.
