Mass wedding ceremonies have been organized across various Brazilian regions to provide free legal marriage services to couples facing financial or social barriers. In Navegantes, the municipal government held a ceremony for 41 couples as part of city anniversary celebrations. This initiative, managed by the Secretariat of Inclusion and Social Development, targeted individuals with incomes up to three minimum wages or those in vulnerable social situations to ensure access to legal documentation and juridical rights. In other regions, judicial bodies have led similar efforts. In Luís Eduardo Magalhães, the Bahia State Court of Justice held its 7th ‘Enfim Casados’ event, formalizing 59 unions. This project, promoted through the Center for Consensual Conflict Resolution and Citizenship (CEJUSC), has assisted over 260 couples since its inception in 2021. Meanwhile, in Rio de Janeiro, the Rio de Janeiro Court of Justice organized a ceremony for 100 couples at the Metropolitan Cathedral of São Sebastião, allowing partners to officialize their relationships without typical financial burdens. In Feira de Santana, the registration period for the 25th edition of a mass wedding program has been extended until September 17. Organized by the City Hall through the Secretariat of Social Development (SEDESO) in partnership with the Court of Justice of Bahia (TJBA), the initiative aims to provide free civil marriage services to 300 couples in situations of social vulnerability. The ceremony is scheduled for the first week of December at the Espaço de Eventos Olimpo.
