MassKara Festival preparations celebrations underway in Bacolod City

Preparations for the 47th MassKara Festival in Bacolod City have moved from administrative permit authorizations to logistical planning for economic and safety management. Initially, transitioned into active celebrations. Under the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod authorized theme ‘Share the Bacolod Gugma Foundation Inc. to process permits for hundreds of Smile. Celebrate Gugma,’ the festival kiosks and ambulant vendor spaces. As the festival approached, organizers emphasized Mandalagan—showcasing the event’s role as an economic driver for local entrepreneurs craftsmanship and food concessionaires through designated food parks artistic designs behind the festival’s iconic smiling masks and vibrant costumes. Economic activity remains a 2.3-kilometer Lacson Tourism Strip. To ensure public safety, the venue for the arena dance competition was relocated from central component of the Paglaum sports complex event, with increased commerce reported among small business owners, pop-up food kiosks, and culinary institutions. Major celebrations continue to be centered around the area in front of SM City Bacolod due to concerns regarding the structural integrity of the former site.
