The Mato Grosso State Health Department (SES-MT) has been implementing various training initiatives to strengthen health regulation and sanitary surveillance. Since June, the department has conducted 15 sessions involving over 1,121 participants to support the New State Regulation System (Regula MT). These efforts include remote workshops and in-person training in Cuiabá and Rondonópolis focused on outpatient modules and the technical analysis of architectural projects for health establishments. Parallel to these regulatory improvements, health officials are working to address critical deficiencies in indigenous healthcare services. Challenges include inadequate medical conditions, a lack of essential medicines, and insufficient infrastructure. To coordinate a response, the Council of Municipal Health Secretariats of Mato Grosso (Cosems/MT) is organizing a thematic meeting to improve cooperation between municipal, state, and federal entities. Efforts are focused on integrating information systems to better track vaccination and maternal health while ensuring primary care respects cultural particularities within the Unified Health System (SUS). As part of a broader digital transformation to modernize public health management, the state has launched the Regula MT Cidadão mobile application. This tool allows SUS users to track the status of medical requests, including consultations, exams, and surgeries, directly from their smartphones. Governor Otaviano Pivetta stated that the tool aims to “increase agility in health regulation and provide transparency,” ensuring patients can monitor scheduled dates, times, and locations. The application requires a Gov.br login and is currently available for Android, with an iOS version expected in the future.
