Mattel is marking significant milestones through new Barbie product releases. The brand celebrated the 65th anniversary of Barbie with the introduction of the Barbie Fashionistas Doll No. 216, which features a larger body type and an apricot-colored dress. This release coincided with fashion trends inspired by the ~~brand's~~ brand’s aesthetic, including specific footwear styles from Adidas and Puma. Following this, Mattel announced a new Barbie Signature Collector doll designed to honor the 100th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe. Created in collaboration with The Estate of Marilyn Monroe LLC, the doll replicates the iconic pink dress from the ‘Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend’ sequence in the film ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes’. This marks the seventh Barbie inspired by Monroe, aimed at both children and adult collectors. Expanding its collector-focused offerings, Mattel has introduced the Barbie Signature Fashion Week collection. This line features three distinct dolls inspired by international fashion hubs: Paris, Milan, and New York. The Paris doll includes a white puff-sleeve shirt and a plaid romper with fringe, while the Milan doll features a red jacket and pleated skirt. The New York doll is styled with a striped shirt dress and an oversized camel trench coat. While the collection was scheduled for international release on August 22, the Barbie Style Paris doll is noted as being available exclusively in Mexico.
