The Mazda MX-5 Miata continues to be recognized as a benchmark for lightweight, purist driving, though it faces competition from more practical sport coupes like the Toyota GR86. In the enthusiast market, Rocketeer has announced a V6 conversion kit for the third-generation (NC) chassis, utilizing a 3.0-liter Jaguar AJ30 engine to produce approximately 300 HP. Regarding official manufacturer updates, Mazda has introduced the 2027 MX-5, which features mechanical refinements to the 1.5L Skyactiv-G engine. These updates, achieved through new engine mapping and reduced internal friction, result in 136 CV and 155 Nm of torque.
