MBN is launching a new local travel variety show, ‘This Is Hyun-moo Road’, featuring entertainer Jun Hyun-moo and actor Lee Joon. The program aims to explore authentic local cultures and lifestyles by avoiding standardized tourist routes through a ‘criteria-based’ approach. In the premiere, the duo traveled to Da Nang, Vietnam. Jun Hyun-moo sought to find locations without Korean tourists by asking local taxi drivers for restaurant recommendations. During the trip, the cast explored local specialties such as Mi Quang and attempted frog dishes; while Jun noted the visual appearance of the frog was difficult to adjust to, he praised the taste, comparing it to chicken. Lee Joon joined the trip later, highlighting a contrast in their travel styles through his minimal packing. In the second episode, the pair continued their exploration of Da Nang and Hue. In Da Nang, they opted for Bai Da Beach over the crowded My Khe Beach and visited Bak Mian Market instead of the well-known Han Market. Jun Hyun-moo praised local dishes like Banh Can and Banh Xeo, stating they were superior to “Michelin-starred establishments”. The duo then traveled four hours by train to Hue, where they enjoyed VIP seating and participated in an impromptu dance session. Upon arriving in Hue, they used ‘xe om’ motorcycles to reach local eateries. During this segment, Lee Joon noted the unique experience of being recognized by local fans as an actor rather than an idol. In the third episode, the hosts continued their stay in Hue, residing in a hotel located in a building dating back to 1802 that formerly served as a venue for audiences with kings. While there, they observed a local memorial service marking the fall of the Hue Imperial City during the French colonial period.
