McLaren is moving toward the discontinuation of several supercar models as part of a strategic lineup shift. Reports indicate the Artura hybrid supercar may be discontinued by 2028, following a launch period marked by technical issues and production halts. The company is expected to focus on a successor, codenamed ‘P34’, which is anticipated to arrive in 2027. McLaren has confirmed that production of the 750S supercar will conclude in 2027, marking the end of a development cycle that began with the 720S in 2017. The 750S, which debuted for the 2024 model year, is an evolution of the 720S platform featuring a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. It has served as the basis for derivatives such as the 765LT and the limited-production 788HS. As the production end approaches, McLaren has opened final orders for the 750S. The model represents the final chapter for the manufacturer’s current V8 internal combustion platform without electrical assistance. To conclude the cycle, the McLaren Special Operations (MSO) division will focus on providing highly customized specifications for the final units. Henrik Wilhelmsmeyer, McLaren’s Chief Commercial Officer, stated that the 750S “will leave behind an extraordinary legacy.” This discontinuation occurs as the company undergoes a strategic transformation, which includes introducing a new logo and expanding its portfolio to include a high-performance SUV intended to compete with models like the Ferrari Purosangue.
