The study found that the venom affects various human systems, including the heart, nervous system, and kidneys. Findings indicate that the anticoagulant heparin can block the venom’s cytotoxic effects and reduce pain and sensitivity, as demonstrated in mice. This offers a potential molecular-based alternative to current treatments like water and sodium bicarbonate suspensions.
