Aniplex, Type-Moon, and developer French-Bread announced that the 2D fighting game Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina is scheduled for release on April 22, 2027. The title, set in the Tsukihime universe, will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Following the initial announcement, further details were revealed during the Tokyo Game Show 2026. The game will feature two distinct control systems: ‘Act’ for simplified inputs to assist newcomers and ‘Duel’ for traditional command inputs used by experienced players. The ‘Act’ system allows players to perform combos by tapping a single button, with the ability to switch between buttons to alter combo types, such as launching opponents into the air or pushing them horizontally. Additional gameplay mechanics include a ‘Gauntlet’ universal dash attack and a ‘WATCH’ mode in Versus Mode. The roster includes characters such as Shiki Tohno, Arcueid Brunestud, Ciel, Neco-Arc, Mikhail Roa Valdamjong, Mash Kyrielight, and Ren. A playable demo was showcased at Tokyo Game Show 2026, and the game will include a ‘Grand Scenario Mode’ featuring a story written by Kinoko Nasu.
