Following the death of Greek singer Dimitris Kokotas on August 25 due to a heart attack, memorial services were held in early October to honor his memory. A 40-day memorial service took place on Saturday, October 3, at the Holy Church of Panagia Eleousa in Agia Varvara. The event was attended by his widow, Katerina Petrakis, his sisters, and various members of the artistic community. A second memorial service was held the following morning, Sunday, at the Metamorfosi tou Soteros in Kefalari. This second ceremony was organized by his sister, Elli Kokota, and attended by members of the Potamianos and Laimou families, along with childhood friends and social figures. In the wake of the services, Katerina Petrakis shared emotional reflections regarding her late husband on the program ‘Super Katerina’. She spoke of the “profound void” left by his absence after nearly 25 years of partnership and detailed the two and a half years she spent by his side during his hospitalization. Petrakis noted that despite his struggles, Kokotas remained responsive to her voice and the presence of their daughter, who remains proud of his memory.
